Dear Prayier Warriors & friends,
I just received an email from my friend Brigitta who lives in the state of Queensland in Australia
I hope you do not mind, but I enclosing a considerable amount of her email because it will help you better understand, from a personal testimony, how bad things are there:
We are safe here, but if the rain continues that will change. The major highway north of Brisbane is now cut by flood waters.
Queensland is slowing going under water. The size of the section of our state underwater is the same size as Germany and Franace combined or the US state of Texas. The army is now fully involved. Last night the telethon raised ten million dollars but that will literally be a drop in the bucket for what is needed. All infrastructure has literally been washed away. The death toll is rising. And it is still raining. Some complete towns are under fourteen metres (46 feet) of water. The state's farmers have lost everything and they are predicting a state food shortage. Amazingly, it isn't just Queensland that is effected. On the other side of the country, Western Australia is suffering a similar fate and so is the northern part of NSW. They say Australia has two seasons... Drought that lasts three years and floods that last a year.
I wanted to let you know that I'm safe and that if you have prayers to spare, we could do with some at the moment.
I recently saw a lengthy story on Weather Channel and was shocked by the devastation in a town I am familiar with, Rockhampton, but this is a personal testimony from someone who is experiencing it first hand.
Please join me in prayer for the people of Queensland. It is devastating for them.
Shalom in Jesus,
Rosalee
